Gift bags

 I made these two bags using the We R Memory Keepers bag maker. I did make a few adjustments though because I wanted the bag bigger than you are able to make with their guide. I also made a extra fold at the top of the bag to hide the attachments for the handles.

The first bag uses Stampin' Up! Crisp Cantaloupe 12 x 12 paper from the In Colour DSP stack. The sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned set and the framelit die is from the Apothecary Accents set. I used Memory Box and MFT dies for the design on the front of the bag topped off with a bloom from Prima.

For the second bag I used Island Indigo DSP from a now retired range.
I decorated the front with paper and die cuts from My Minds Eye Hip Hooray range.

The bags measure Imperial 5 3/4" x 2 3/4", Metric 14.6cm x 7.1cm, you will need two sheets of 12 x 12 paper . I reinforced the bottom with a piece of card. For handles I have used ribbon. I measured the size of the handle I wanted, cut the ribbon to length and the stapled each end to a piece of card 3/4" or 2cm square.
On the photo below, you can see the inside of the bag and the top fold. I made 4 cuts (3/4" or 2cm long) on the top fold line where I wanted to position the handles. I then inserted the square piece of card (that the ribbon was attached to) through these cuts. The squares were then firmly attached to the bag. The fold was then secured to the squares and the bag. When finished the fixings are neatly hidden.

Happy Birthday Lauren

Lauren has reached the grand old age of 22 today. She has recovered from her accident but has had one injury after another ever since, which is depressing her. Instead of training on the bike and running she is now concentrating on building up some of her weaker muscles in the hope that this will prevent further injury. I certainly hope so. She starts her Uni exams this Thursday, she was supposed to have taken them in June but they allowed her to delay because of the headaches she was suffering after the accident which prevented her from studying.

Now a layout for you, this is my mother at about 8 or 9, I am not sure, which is why I have left the tag unfinished. Hopefully when Mum looks at the blog entry she will be able to tell me.

Graduation

One of Holly's friends asked if I would do a scrapbook page of her graduation from year 6. My current favourite stamping set is "a rose is a rose" from Stampin Up and I took my theme from the flowers she is holding.

Sunday's offerings

Saw this from my driveway on Sunday morning. Wow, I bet they were cold up there!! We often see one or two but I have never seen four together.

The layout "We are family" were old photos from about 16/17 years ago, when we lived in England and the children were small, the little baby boy is our darling son Joshua, who died when he was 5 from cancer. Not a day goes by that we don't think of him and how our lives would be if he were still with us.

The other layout is of our oldest daughter Lauren, when she was around four, with her cousin Matthew, who recently came to visit us from England (he is now 29) so just a bit bigger than in the photo. Isn't the paper gorgeous? Note the "lovely" gold curtains in the background, they were my Mum's, I know, what on earth possessed her!!
