Mmm....chocolate

The new Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery has recently opened not far from our house  (good move on their part, bad move for my waistline!) and naturally we had to pay a visit, it would be rude not to I am sure you will agree. We had relatives over from England in January so my youngest daughter, my sister in law and I went to try it out whilst his lordship and brother in law played golf. Free tastings as you enter the door, just too tempting!! We spend a couple of hours there and stayed for scones (huge) and tea which were delicious.Being a crafter the pretty packaging caught my eye and gave me the colour scheme for this layout and also the ribbon. When we returned home and told the men about it they insisted on a repeat visit. Who am I to disappoint them? So we went a few days later, this time we tried the scrumptious but very large desserts which each come with a shot glass of liquid chocolate. Needless to say we were very full when we left but that didn't stop us from buying some choc to take home!! If you visit, you must try the freeze dried strawberries wrapped in choc, but be warned, once you open the pack they are so moreish you will find it hard to stop until they are all gone. Just a friendly warning, I of course was more restrained...not!
I have visited once more when my lovely friends Christine and Leanne suggested we went there for lunch, more huge desserts! Three times in three weeks, is that too much? No, I don't think so, I look upon it as keeping the local economy going. Their blurb said they were hoping to get over half a million visitors a year, so I am just doing my small part to help them achieve their goal. I definitely need to go back again because so far I have yet to sample the ice cream which looks equally delicious.

Last of this years Christmas layouts

This layout covers Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The basics of the layout came from a kit I purchased from Stampin Up! and I teamed it with Kaiser Christmas Paper.
This layout is from Christmas afternoon down on the beach. The beach huts were from Silhoutte and the grass behind the sand is actually an icicle die but it worked just fine for this layout.

Ooh Baby Baby

I am liking the doily trend I have been noticing online and decided to make this card to use up some of my scraps. It was supposed to be a quick card but I got carried away and decided to make the little felt jacket and sewed some trim to the lapels to match the colour of the "Girl card". I used  the chicken wire stamp I had ordered online from Waltzing Mouse, together with the ticket stamps and die from papertrey ink. I have just ordered the ticket stamps and punch from Stampin Up, looking forward to getting them in my hot little stickies.
Here is the inside of the card.

A touch of snow in summer

Here is a layout of my two daughters and a friend on a day out to Lake Mountain. Everything used in the layout came from a Carta Bella kit I ordered online apart from the snowflakes which are cut using a Stampin Up sizzix die. There wasn't too much snow on the day but the weather was warm and sunny so they all had a good time anyway.
