Guest Designer for Merry Monday

I am thrilled to say that today I have a guest designer spot for the Merry Monday Challenge #115.

The challenge is to create an all white Christmas card (the sentiment can be in silver). Here is my take on the challenge.

I cut a piece of card slightly smaller than my card base and used a Stampin Up framelit die to cut the shape. Next, I die cut the word merry from this piece of card and stamped my sentiment underneath. Then I ran it through an embossing folder. Altogether I cut 4 "merry's" and stuck them on on top the other to provide some depth and then placed the in the previously die cut slot in the card. I used a Simon Says Stamp die for the snowflake and layered this up four times too. The top layer I covered in white glitter. Finally I cut one more snowflake but just used the centre for added dimension. I adhered the cut shape to the card base with raised foam squares and added a few pearls to finish it off.

Merry Monday 114

This week's challenge was to use glitter, shimmer or shine on your card.

Here is my offering.

I die cut a large snowflake in gold glitter card and mounted it on an embossed card base. Finally I added small pearls and a gold embossed centre piece. I was dithering whether to add something else, but then I decided on the "less is more" approach.

Merry Monday Challenge 113

I was inspired by the colour challenge this week, white, pink and silver.

Here is my take on the challenge. I used a Papertrey Ink stamp as a basis to apply my bling.

Here is another card I made for last weeks challenge but rejected it in favour of the dog tag.

Just Add Ink 218

JAI 218

Here is my entry for the Just Add Ink Challenge . I have chosen Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals and Gumball Green.

I inked up the flower image (four times) in Raspberry Ripple and then added colour with my aqua painter and ink from the Primrose Petals ink pad. I layered two flowers and then cut the third down to show just the stamens and finally the last layer was just the very centre of the plant (I don't know the botanical name, it is a long time since I did biology at school!).
I stamped the foliage stamp (three times) in Gumball Green and then a fourth time direct onto the card, having first stamped off on a spare piece of paper. I wanted a subtle image to act as a shadow. I cut out the images and two were used intact. I adhered the first one over the shadow image on the card and added the other above but at a different angle. The third was cut into smaller pieces to add height and interest. I stamped just the bud, twice in green and twice in raspberry. I layered up the raspberry buds on the stalks and then cut the green buds down into fronds and layered them over the raspberry ones to resemble the bud emerging.
Finally I adhered the flower to the foliage and stamped the sentiment. All items used are from Stampin' Up!

Merry Monday 112

Here is my entry for the Merry Monday challenge. I have had this cute stamp for quite some time but is has been neglected. It fit the challenge today because of the Santa hat the dog is wearing. I have designed my card to resemble a present and used the image for the tag,

Bow Die, Paper, Button, Cardstock, Tree stamp, Sentiment stamp - Stampin" Up!
Dog Stamp - Hero Arts

Bloom

I have been having a bit of a play with the new bloom stamp from Stampin' Up! I have really enjoyed colouring these and can't wait to order the stamp when it becomes available.

This first example uses the MFT chicken wire die and a large leaf die from Simon says Stamp
This bloom is my favourite, colouring wise. I have mounted it on Elegant Eggplant and teamed it with the Little Leaves die.

The "You" die and sentiments on both this card and the one above are from a set by Simon says Stamp.

This bloom has been layered to give dimension. I have used the Quatrefoil die by Papertrey Ink as the background, behind this is the Hardwood stamp by S.U. The leaf die and sentiment stamps are from MFT.
Final card, same hardwood background stamp as above, with the hexagon hive and little leave dies. Sentiment stamps MFT and Simon says Stamp.

Just add Ink challenge 217

Another Just Add Ink challenge,  "Just add Cupcakes/Cake/Dessert"

Here is my entry, a quilled cupcake. The cupcake itself didn't take anywhere near as long to make as assembling the card. I started the card yesterday morning, made the cupcake in approx two hours and was still battling with the layout this afternoon, I just couldn't find my mojo. I eventually finished around 4pm, hence the poor light I took the photo in. It needed to be done, to get the card uploaded before the challenge finished (I am at work tomorrow). Still not completely happy with it, but never mind. Another day, another card!
