Introducing Liam and Tina

We were very surprised yesterday by the early arrival of Tina, according to the records we received when we purchased her Mum Evita, she wasn't due to arrive until April. However, yesterday morning she put in an appearance, we had checked the alpacas out in the morning and everything was fine, then our neighbour came up around 10.30 and noticed the baby in the large paddock. We ushered her and her Mum in the small paddock nearest the house where we could keep an eye on them. We contacted the Vet for some advice and he said if Tina hadn't started to feed with in a couple of hours we would have to help her. Later on we had to assist Tina with her feeding, whilst doing this, I looked up and noticed yet another baby in the large paddock, and Liam had arrived, just. We then got him and his Mum Connie into the small paddock and kept watch all day. They are so cute. We have one more due in April ( if that date is right) and another in October.

RR day 10

Here is my final offering in the Red Rooster series, I have even amazed myself with my dedication to posting daily. This card is a case of one made by the very talented Amber here. I love her cards, she always seems to come up with innovative ways to use her stamps.

Now on to my early birthday pressie, you can see which ones I have played with already. I am very impressed with the Fancy Flourish dies. I have had the stamp set a very long time and it is a real boon not to have to hand cut them anymore. It is the same with the Turning a New Leaf dies, one of my constant "go to" sets. I was really taken with the Quatrefoil die when it was released and I certainly haven't been disappointed now I have it in my hot little stickies. The card above was made with the Rosie Posie and the Harvest Berries sets. The flowers were highlighted with Copic markers.

RR day 9

This is my very favourite card of all those I made. I didn't notice until I posted the photo however, that I have a small red smudge on the card but never mind it proves it's hand made!

I also seem to be unable to count because I only have 9 cards rather than the ten I promised, so I am off now to whip up another. See you tomorrow for my final card.

Sentiment stamp: Kaiser
Other stamp: Stampin Up! - Fresh Vintage and background stamp Woodgrain
Doily Die: - Cheery Lynn
Flower centre: Prima

RR day 7

I hope you are all impressed with my effort, a post a day for 7 days, must be some sort of record!

As you can see, I have used a few of the left over strips of coloured card that I had cut for Day 4. The  nested frames are from Just Rite stamps and die cut with Labels 20 from Spellbinders.I embossed the lines using a very old brass stencil, whose name I have long since forgotten.

Having fun with my PTI stamps and dies, I will show you a few examples when I actually get around to making something.

RR day 6

I love the background on this card, which was made with the Papermania/ DoCrafts Tri-boss "Whimsy" embossing folder. The multi colour stripe panel is from a larger sheet on which I have adhered stripes of Melon Mambo, Read Red, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie and Crumbcake. I used this to die cut the flower used on yesterdays card.

The PTI order has arrived, YAY!!! I will show you the goodies on a later post.

Stamps: Stampin Up! - Fabulous Florets, Fresh Vintage
Die: Stampin Up! - Lots of tags label 2

RR day 5

Don't you just love that flower? I do! The centre brad is Basic Grey from an autumn collection whose name escapes me at the moment!
The label on this card is from Just Rite stamps and coordinates with Labels twenty from Spellbinders. I have used four different dies to cut the embellishments.

Dies
  • Flourish - MFT
  • Kraft coloured leaf - Sizzix
  • Largest leaf - Marianne's creatables
  • Smaller leaf - Not sure on this one, but it is fairly popular. If someone looking at this post knows please leave a comment and I will update the blog post.

Edit:
Here is a close up of the embellishment that I meant to upload it with the original post.

RR day 4

This was actually the first card I created in this series and I was trying to represent the stripes on the bag.It also gave me an ideal opportunity to ink up my newly received sale.a.bration stamp set.

RR day 3

Nice and simple this one. You can't see it very well on this photo but I have embossed lines above and below the flowers just to add a little extra interest to an otherwise very simple card. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink. Speaking of which I have a rather large order coming from PTI as a birthday pressie form His Lordship, can't wait!

Inspiration from Red Rooster, who'd have thought?

Whilst languishing in the food hall of a local shopping mall waiting from my daughter to finish eating, I was idly casting my eye around and came across the Red Rooster bag which had contained Holly's lunch ( tasty in Holly's opinion, unhealthy in mine, but that's another story). As only an (SU) card maker would understand, I thought what a great colour combo, melon mambo, rich razzleberry, real red and pumpkin pie. Don't they all look great on a Kraft background? I tore off a small portion and popped it in my handbag for later. I ended up making ten cards and could have gone on and on.

Here is my first offering, I will endeavour to post one every day, but don't hold me to that!

A beautiful day

This layout is from a trip to Marysville last year. We went to see the Falls as they had been reopened and we amazed at the change. The first time we went (pre fires) you couldn't see all of the falls from any one spot because the the foliage. Now you can see it from almost any angle. The new viewing platforms are great for picture taking. The flowers are from outside of the bakery.

The papers from this layout are a mixture of Kaiser and Papermania.
