The gap between posting seems to get longer every year.

I don't seem to get as much time for crafting these days, but I still love to create when I can.

All the above cards are made using flower dies from MFT

Let's celebrate! Day 1.

Due to various commitments and holiday, my friends and I were unable to get together before Christmas to exchange presents, so we decided to set a date in the new year. This also enabled us to wait for the Stampin Up sale a bration so we could get some new products. Over the next three days, I will be showing the packaging I have made to hold the new purchases.

Happy birthday Judy

It's birthday time again, for my good friend Judy. I had lots of fun making the packaging, plenty of stamping and fussy cutting.

For the flower on top of the box, I stamped and punched it out it several times to layer up and make the flower appear larger.

Most of the items used are from Stampin' Up! The exceptions are: The long leaf die - Simon says Stamp exclusive. The fish tail tags and ordinary tag are from My Favourite Things.

Happy birthday Jackie

Here is the card I made for my good friend Jackie who is celebrating her birthday today. Sadly Jackie and I don't get to see each other much these days as we live thousands of miles apart but when we do, it is just like old times.

40 and fabulous

Here is a card I have created for my lovely neighbour who is celebrating a milestone birthday in a few weeks. It is hard to see from this photo but I have embossed the background paper with the larger polka dot folder.

Mother's Day box card

Here is the card I have made for my Mum. No need to worry, she does not read this blog, so the surprise is safe.

All products used are Stampin" Up! unless otherwise stated.

I used Crumb Cake for the contruction of the box. Then I stamped the Hardwood background stamp on to more Crumb cake card stock and cut it into strips and used the hexagon punch to shape the end to a point for fence panels. Next I added some grass (MFT die) and then a Tree die (Memory Box) cut down and used as a bush on one corner of the box. I punched small flowers in a yellow patterned DST (sorry it is an old one and I can't remember the name).I added a pink centre with a marker and then using a foam pad and an embossing stylus, shaped the flower to give it some texture.

I covered the remaining surface area of the box with the same yellow DSP.

With the base complete I then set about making the flowers, leaves and banner.
The orange/yellow flowers (Delightful Dahlias and Delightful Dahlia additions - Papertrey Ink) were stamped on the same DSP and then coloured using an aqua painter and ink pads. The red flowers were stamped on white card.
Some of the leaves were stamped (Harvest berries
 - Papertrey Ink).  The others were die cut -
(Layers Leaves - MFT). Glitter (Art Institute ultra fine glitter) and sparkly embellishments (Kaiser) were then added to the flowers before adhering them to the box. The sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink.

The banners were punched using the banner punch from the most recent sale-a-bration catalogue and  ticket duo punch. I used more paper from the same set as the yellow DSP and layered it up on matching cardstock ( with the exception of the orange paper which was from my stash). The banners were adhered to some twine and  for a bit of bling I added a string of crystals.

Finally for the front section, I stamped the sentiment (Stick N' Stamp) on to a die, cut from the Apothecary Accents set. Finishing it off with flowers from the Petite Petals stamped and punched and a leaf (Papertrey ink). In the centre of the flowers is a glittered pearl. I used plain pearls which I covered with glue and then sprinkled with glitter to match the other flowers.

I was very happy with how it turned out. It is now winging it's way to England ready for next Sunday. It would have fitted in an envelope but for extra safety I put it in a sturdy box to protect it.

I hope you have enjoyed today's rather long post.

Chevrons

For Christmas a lovely friend bought me the Chevron background stamp from Stampin Up! Yesterday I got to have a little play with it. I was very taken with SU's pre made chevron bags and thought I would have a go myself. I always have brown paper bags in the house for lunches, so I used these to make smaller, more delicate looking bags.
I stamped the background and then layered up stamped images from Papertrey Ink Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie additions sets. The dies cut images are from MFT. Sentiment from Flourishes (I think).
I made a matching tag to go with this bag, I used the Rosie Posie stamp again and a sentiment from PTI. The leave die is also PTI cut once in white card and again in Shimmery vellum. I got the idea from here, Debby Hughes makes some fantastic cards and crafty projects. Her personal blog is here.
For the last bag, I used the tag again (with a bow this time), flowers from my stash and I stamped the PTI large flourish, from the Fancy Flourishes set in Encore silver on the shimmery vellum.

Packaging

I have been a bit quiet on the old blog of late, life just seems to keep getting in the way. Today I have aside some time to get my photos off the camera and onto the computer and then the blog. It was a toss up between that and housework, so you can see what won. Here are some packaging examples I have made recently to hold items purchased by friends from my website, any excuse to create, right!

This bag uses the Harvest berries stamp and die set from Papertrey Ink, with the addition of a flower punch. I originally just stamped it on the bag but the bag was slightly glossy and the ink wasn't drying properly despite using a heat gun so I gave up and used the dies cuts instead.

This bas uses the Fabulous Flourishes stamp set from Papertrey Ink, MFT flourish die, Stampin Up framelits, butterfly stamp and punch. The antenna on the butterfly is from a butterfly die by Memory Box. The sentiment is from a set by Flourishes. Flourish seems to be a recurring theme on this one!

Third and final example for today creating a Papertrey Ink clean sweep, because this item was stamped with their Rosie Posie set. The small white flourish is from their Fabulous Flourishes set. The leaves and wreath are Memory box dies. The Crumb Cake base for the wreath has been cut with a Stampin Up framelit. Last but not least, a fab stamping set just for paper crafters from Woodware.
