Let's celebrate! Day 1.

Due to various commitments and holiday, my friends and I were unable to get together before Christmas to exchange presents, so we decided to set a date in the new year. This also enabled us to wait for the Stampin Up sale a bration so we could get some new products. Over the next three days, I will be showing the packaging I have made to hold the new purchases.

A scrapbook page, not posted one of these for a while.

I thought I would give you a little break from the Fresh Prints and insert a scrapbook page, I have been neglecting this area of my crafting for some time. So much to catch up on!!

This is my first foray in to the world of washi tape and despite my reservations about the product, I am happy with the results. I have had the tape for ages but wasn't really sure how to use it. I am not one for using it with torn edges or for sticking things on with it. I have seen others use it to great effect this way but it just wasn't for me. I covered some card with the tape and used it to cut shapes from, (hearts in this case) to make the banner. The triple layer heart tucked in to the "Selfie" pocket at the bottom of the page has journalling on the back.

Thank you card

Here is a thank you card I created with a birthday gift from my good friend Judy. It is a Sizzix/Hero Arts stamps and die combo that I had had my eye on for some time. It stamps beautifully and layers up very easily. I finished the card off with some Stampin Up paper and card.

Getting ready for Christmas

Here are a few of this weeks creations. All of the paper and ribbon is Stampin Up. The layout is Lauren my oldest (now 21) posing in front of our tree, just wishing it were Christmas day and she could be opening all her pressies. She was very much an open one present, toss it to the side and open the next, kind of girl. So unlike Josh who would open his presents one at a time and then play with them, he could make Christmas last for days.

The big top is down and it is on it's way

This is my final Circle Circus offering before I return the stamp set this week. A rather bold and bright little number, I am sure you will agree. I took the colours and the daisy theme from the clothes my daughter is wearing. At her old junior school, they had a summer fete every year and the kids all dressed up and performed songs, a play and sometimes dancing for the parents. This year was a hippy theme. I stamped the images onto green cards stock in a dark pink ink, punched them out and then topped them with a circle frame (cut with cuttlebug dies). The background on the pink paper was stamped with a large flourish stamp using a multicolour ink pad.

Ingredients
Paper: Bo Bunny
Dies: Daisy - Sizzix, Mini Letters - Sizzix, Circle frames - Cuttlebug
Chipboard Letters: Heidi Swapp
Letter Stickers: My little shoebox (available from http://www.scrapinthebox.com.au/)
Stamps: Butterfly - Basic Grey ( also from Scrap in the box) Flourish - Stampin Up Baroque Motifs set

Two more layouts

Can anyone help me with my photography? When ever I take double pages layouts and sometimes single page ones, it doesn't matter how carefully I line them up, when I process the photo they always come out a bit banana shaped, looking like the layout isn't straight. Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Layout 1 - Australia day at Rosebud, Vic

Ingredients
Paper: Stampin Up DSP Rainbow Sherbet (now retired I think)
Letters: Orange Stickers - Basic Grey
Embellishments: Circles - I think they are Sweetwater, others from $2 shop. Thongs/flipflops - Jesse James Buttons

Ingredients
Paper and stickers: Stampin Up Simply Scrappin kit - Petal party
Grass: Sizzix border die
